(Yahoo!) - For her new single "Say Yes," Michelle Williams has called in some supreme backup: her Destiny's Child pals Kelly Rowland and Beyoncé.
The cover of the Nigerian hymn "When Jesus Says Yes" is set to appear on Williams's Journey to Freedom, due out this fall. On the track, Williams sings lead, with Rowland and Beyoncé joining in for background vocals and the second verse. Produced by Harmony Samuels, the music has a vibrant dance energy and an uplifting, faith-based message. Lyrics include: "I'm not worried about a thing/'Cause I know you are guiding me/Where you lead me/Lord I will go/I have not fear/'Cause I know who's in control."
Michelle, Kelly, and Beyoncé reportedly filmed a video for the song in New Jersey on Tuesday. Williams's declined to confirm the shoot. Meanwhile, Michelle claimed that the song was released prematurely.
Unfortunately an unmixed and mastered version of a song was leaked today! Wanted it 2 be presented right! Thx for the love though! 😘 #pissed— Michelle Williams (@RealMichelleW) May 21, 2014
The singers have recorded songs together since Destiny's Child's breakup in 2005. In January 2013, they released a new song "Nuclear" that appeared on the album Love Songs, a compilation of their ballads. Last summer, they joined on another new track, "You Changed," from Kelly's Talk a Good Game album. They also offered a surprise reunion for Beyoncé's 2013 Super Bowl performance.
